Pier Kids
Pier Kids documents three homeless queer black youth over five years as they navigate the streets, welfare, and biological families while searching for stable housing. Casper, a young, trans attracted Black man, is left vulnerable in his pursuit of true love. Desean is at a critical point navigating a reality where committing a crime or getting HIV are his best alternatives to escape homelessness. Krystal utilizes the ballroom scene as a way to survive.
