Ramen Shop
Masato, a young Ramen chef, leaves his hometown in Japan to embark on a culinary journey to Singapore to find out the truth about his past. Told through a mix of flashbacks to the origins of Masato’s broken family and his present exploration of the delicacies of his uncle’s restaurant, the idea of family reconciliation drives the sentimentality and forgiveness of Masato’s journey. His ultimate fusion of two dishes, the iconic Japanese ramen and Singapore’s signature bak kut teh, solidifies the power of food in bridging people and culture and celebrates 50 years of Japan and Singapore’s diplomatic relations.
