VAFF Launches Sale of Virtual All-Access Passes for Upcoming 33rd Annual VAFF

2020 Virginia Film Festival Set for October 21-25; Passes Provide Access to Screenings and Events in VAFF’s On-Demand Virtual Program

VAFF Officials Also Announce Pop-Up Drive-In Movie Locations Downtown at Dairy Market and at the Picturesque Morven Farm in Albemarle County

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – September 22, 2020 – Virginia Film Festival officials have announced the launch of sales for the Virtual All-Access Passes for the 2020 Festival, coming up from October 21-25. As previously announced, and in light of the evolving COVID-19 situation, this year’s Festival will feature a virtual format, while also offering safe and socially-distanced Drive-In Movies each evening.

The Virginia Film Festival is a program of the University of Virginia and the Office of the Provost and Vice Provost for the Arts.

The 2020 VAFF Virtual All-Access Pass, priced at $65.00, offers access to all films and discussions included in the 2020 Virtual Program, which will include over 50 narrative and documentary features, curated short film packages, live and pre-recorded discussions, and more. The Virtual All-Access Pass will NOT include admission to the VAFF’s Drive-In Movies or access to a limited series of Special Presentation screenings and events. A Virtual Student Pass will also be available for $45.00, offering the same benefits as the All-Access Pass at a discounted price for grade school and college students.

Full-time graduate and undergraduate students at UVA can use their Arts$ allocation to reserve a free Virtual Student Pass by visiting virginiafilmfestival.org/free-student-tickets.

VAFF officials also announced today two pop-up Drive-In Movie locations: downtown at Dairy Market, officially opening later this Fall, and at the picturesque Morven Farm in southeastern Albemarle County. Plans are for each venue to host one drive-in screening each night of the Festival.

It is truly one of the most extraordinary properties in our region, and it offers the perfect backdrop for a fun and safe Virginia Film Festival experience.”

The Virginia Film Festival’s 2020 Virtual Program and Drive-In Movies schedule will be announced on Tuesday, October 6. A complete list of the films and discussions, along with ticket information, will be posted online on Thursday, October 8. Single tickets to Drive-In Movies and Special Presentation Events will also go on sale October 8. Individual tickets to the Virtual Program will go on sale on Wednesday, October 21.
