Director Chloé Zhao to be Honored at 2020 Virginia Film Festival
We are proud to announce that director Chloé Zhao will be honored at the 2020 VAFF with our American Perspectives Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinema.
2020 VAFF Program Announced
We are thrilled to announce our 2020 Program, which includes two Drive-In Movie locations and a Virtual Program of over 50 features, shorts, special guest conversations, post-film discussions, and more! Our full program will go live at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 8.
We are thrilled to announce that we will present screenings at two Drive-In Movie locations during the Festival- at the new Dairy Market in downtown Charlottesville and at the picturesque Morven Farm in southeastern Albemarle County

2020 VAFF Program
Thank you for your interest in the Virginia Film Festival’s 2020 Program! Presented October 21-25, this year's Festival will feature a Virtual Program of more than 50 films, conversations, and special events alongside a series of Drive-In Movies presented in two safe and socially-distanced settings.
Drive-In Movie Schedule
Join us at Dairy Market in Charlottesville and Morven Farm in southeastern Albemarle county for safe and socially-distanced drive-in movies. Each venue will host one drive-in screening each night of the Festival. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, October 8 at noon.
Our Virtual Program will include over 50 features, curated shorts packages, discussions, and panels. All events will be accessible to Virtual All-Access passholders, and individual tickets will go on sale Wednesday, October 21.
Special Presentation Events
The VAFF will also offer three virtual Special Presentation Events as part of its 2020 program. Access to each event will be offered for free, and online registration will begin on Thursday, October 8 at noon.
Each year the VAFF welcomes a fascinating collection of guests ranging from high-profile film industry leaders to rising stars, up-and-coming directors, and cultural experts from the UVA community and beyond.

2020 School Screening
This year, the Virginia Film Festival will present 'Boys State' as our 2020 School Screening in collaboration with the University of Virginia Center for Politics. The screening will be offered for free to Charlottesville and surrounding area Virginia middle and high school students and their teachers via a virtual screening and pre-recorded discussions.
