The Festival Ambassadors program is back! The Ambassadors program allows University of Virginia students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event-planning and entertainment publicity, and we are excited to work with students again this year. Find details about the program below.
The Program
The Festival Ambassadors program is an opportunity for UVA students to gain hands-on experience in the entertainment industry through event coordination, publicity, and marketing.
Ambassadors may be responsible for:
- Creating original promotional content for festival programming
- Coordinating and publicizing film screenings to the UVA community
- Planning on-Grounds initiatives to raise awareness of Festival events and increase student engagement
- Chalking across Grounds to increase social media presence
- Partnering with senior staff to support the 2023 Virginia Film Festival and its programs
Festival Ambassadors could receive:
- VAFF swag
- Complimentary group meal during Festival weekend
- Opportunities to meet and network with VAFF staff and guests
Please note, this is a volunteer position. Festival Ambassadors can commit anywhere from 1-2+ hours per week.

All UVA undergraduate and graduate, part-time and full-time students of any year are encouraged to fill out our interest form.
The 2023 Festival Ambassadors program will have a virtual interest meeting on September 11 at 7:30 PM and will meet in person on the following dates:
- September 18 at 7:30 PM
- September 25 at 7:30 PM
- October 9 at 7:30 PM
- October 23 at 7:30 PM
