The Virginia Film Festival is coming up from November 5-8 and will feature more than 120 films in addition to special guests including Meg Ryan, Oliver Stone, noted film historian and critic Leonard Maltin, social change pioneer Larry Kramer, and more.

Violet Crown Charlottewsville, which will serve as a primary screening venue for this year’s VFF, is a state-of-the-art ten screen cinema showing the best in arthouse, independent, regional, and Hollywood studio films, and featuring smaller, more intimate auditoriums, reserved stadium seating, and state of the art projection and sound. The facility will offer traditional movie theater concessions along with a café featuring chef prepared entrees with an emphasis on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, and a bar featuring 38 taps of rotating beer, wine and cider, along with a signature craft cocktail menu.

Festival officials also announced a “mystery screening” – a sneak preview of a soon-to-be-released, star-studded Hollywood movie – on Saturday, November 7 at 9:00 PM at The Paramount Theater. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the film’s Academy Award-nominated filmmakers. Tickets for the screening will go on sale at noon on Wednesday.
