Citizen Ashe follows legendary African American tennis player, activist, and Virginia native Arthur Ashe as he dominates in a predominantly white sport and creates a trail of activism for racial justice. Narrated by Ashe himself, the film not only gives a glimpse into Ashe’s life but also offers a sociological look into the sport of tennis and the racial trauma surrounding it.
