Petite Maman

After the death of her grandmother, eight-year-old Nelly joins her parents in taking stock of her grandmother’s home. While exploring the surrounding woods, she meets a girl her age building a treehouse. As the girls’ friendship quickly blossoms, their similarities become more apparent, merging events of the past with those of the present and future. This coming-of-age fantasy walks the line between a ghost story and a family tale with precision and joy. Created by the internationally acclaimed writer/director of Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Petite Maman weaves together grief, life transitions, and childhood wonder in this tender story of intergenerational connection.
