Burt

Burt, a delightful and spirited 69-year-old street musician with Parkinson’s has his daily life shaken up when, Sammy, a wayward young man from New York shows up claiming to be his son. Having always dreamt of being a dad, Burt embraces Sammy, inviting him to stay for the weekend at the house he shares with his irritable landlord Steve.
This scrappy microbudget production, filmed in black-and-white, shot in seven days, and based on musician Burton Berger’s life, is a testament to both the ways in which limitations inspire creativity and the transformative power of music. Mixing fiction and reality, the dry comedy inspires laughter even as the drama elicits tears.
Executive produced by David Gordon Green (Halloween, Pineapple Express, George Washington), this movie was inspired by the real life of Burt Berger, who stars in the film alongside actor Oliver Cooper.
