Frankenstein

Three-time Academy Award-winning director Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Pinocchio, The Shape of Water) has dreamed of adapting Mary Shelley’s beloved Gothic novel since he was 11 years old. More than a decade in the making, the sweeping film premiered at Venice International Film Festival and stars Jacob Elordi in a larger-than-life performance as Frankenstein’s monster. Oscar Isaac features as the brilliant scientist and anatomist Victor Frankenstein, with stellar performances from Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz.

At the zenith of his passion for the power and beauty of monsters, Del Toro’s seminal film marvels in grandiosity, from stunning scenes shot in Scotland to Kate Hawley’s intricately designed costumes. The legendary filmmaker has succeeded in creating an original, uncanny, and abundant Frankenstein that both honors his inspiration and contemplates what it means to be human.
