Ghost Elephants

Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man, Encounters at the End of the World) is no stranger to capturing the strange and extraordinary intersections of humans and the natural world, especially through the lens of an obsessed individual on a singular quest. This is the case in the German filmmaker’s latest documentary feat, Ghost Elephants, which follows conservationist Dr. Steve Boyes on his expedition in the Angolan highlands to investigate the possible existence of a mythical species of giant elephants.

Guided by Boyes, a group of Namibian master trackers, and Herzog’s signature narration, the film reveals the beauty, danger, and enduring mystery of the wild.
