The Choral
GALA SCREENING

In 1916, the male members of a Yorkshire choral society have been sent off to fight in the trenches of World War I. An exacting choral master (Ralph Fiennes) recruits singers from the city’s remaining residents, from a collection of unruly teenagers to local women and pensioners. What begins as a reluctant exercise soon transforms into something far deeper, as the singers channel their grief and fear into harmony while preparing for a performance of Edward Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius.
Full of heart and humor, and featuring a commanding performance from Ralph Fiennes (Conclave, The English Patient), The Choral is a rousing period drama and a testament to the enduring power of music and art, even during wartime.
“An original wartime tale dedicated to illuminating the human spirit”
