Ryûsuke Hamaguchi, Academy-Award winning director of Drive My Car, returns with deeply humanistic, philosophical and moving account of an unlikely friendship between Marie-Lou (Virginie Efira, Bendetta), an elderly care facility director and Mari (Tao Okamoto, Westworld,) a Japanese theater director living with terminal cancer.

What starts as a chance encounter quickly blossoms into a profound bond. As the two brilliant and professionally accomplished women delve into conversations about capitalism, language, art, desire, and fulfillment, they are drawn closer by the moment, as much by what they share as by the vast differences in their lived experiences.
