What if your “gay best friend” was a kidnapped celebrity? Jack Plotnick (Rubber) plays Blake de Troy, a minor celebrity who’s spiraling after the death of his partner, before being ‘rescued’ from a car accident by superfan Antoinette Funk, played by a hilarious Rachel Dratch (SNL). She soon realizes that his glittering personality on television is entirely performative, as Blake schemes to spin what he believes to be a kidnapping into a publicity stunt to launch his comeback. 

This Misery-inspired dark comedy takes a hammer to the pitfalls of fame and parasocial relationships with a barrage of one-liners and wacky situational comedy, turning what would otherwise be a bleak premise into a zany homage that’s sure to leave you in stitches.
