Jesse Eisenberg (A Real Pain) returns with his signature wit and humor to foray into the world of community theater with an absurdist tale of a housewife swept up in the dramatics and fervor of musical theater. Mona (Julianne Moore) is completely disregarded by everyone in her life. On a whim, and with no experience, she lands a role in a local musical.  

Under the guidance of Jerry (Paul Giamatti) the magnetic director, Mona becomes spellbound and begins to lose herself in the glamour of the stage.
