Veska is working as an archaeologist when she meets an old acquaintance, Said, and helps him after his car is stolen. As they begin to reconnect, Veska is drawn into Said’s criminal world and must embark on a quest to confront the truth of this seemingly quiet town and her own past as shadows creep in. Grisebach’s use of non-professional actors adds a raw authenticity to the film that separates it from other crime dramas and adds fascinating new dimensions to the genre.
