This love letter to queer joy vividly tells the story of the first “shadow cast” performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in the small conservative town of Rock Springs, Wyoming. Until 2022, when Kenny Starling founded the state’s first queer and drag theater troupe, the beloved tradition of performers embodying characters from the 1975 cult classic had never taken root there.

Heartfelt and moving, Time Warp captures how the show liberates its queer cast, while confronting the pushback Starling and the performers face from the community. Guided by Starling’s principle of leading with love, the production becomes an act of defiance, celebration, and transformation.
