All Fall Down
In Baltimore 1972, a senseless murder rocked the Selhorst family, leaving thirteen children without a father. Three black teenagers were tried for the homicide of this white man, ironically on his way to protest the destruction of a poor black neighborhood, but were found not guilty. Years later, the victim’s granddaughter Emily Topper returns to the city, seeking closure for a crime with mysterious details that has haunted her family over 40 years. The filmmakers doggedly navigate candid, often conflicting, testimonials from with family members, judges, lawyers, and even one defendant in the case, and uncover deep-seated racial and class tensions that mirror overarching societal issues.
