Aloners
Preceded by the short film BJ’s Mobile Gift Shop.
Jin-ah prefers to be on her own. She does her job well, but she walks to work alone, she lives alone, and she does her best to block out the world at any given moment. Her perspective shifts when her neighbor dies alone in his apartment. Now, Jin-ah must face what it is that caused her desire for loneliness in the first place. In a time when isolation has been the world’s normal, Aloners unpacks the consequences lack of social interaction can cause, and the difficult yet rewarding experience of human connection.
