Based on her best-selling novel of the same name, writer/director Adriana Trigiani presents the story of a coal-mining town nestled in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. Ave Maria Mulligan (Judd), the town’s self-proclaimed spinster, lives with her mother, runs the pharmacy, and directs the town’s annual outdoor drama. Living a quiet life, Ave Maria is suddenly thrown off-course when she discovers a long-buried family secret that changes the course of her life forever.
