Blade of the Immortal

Manji is a legendary samurai who has battled dozens of men throughout his life. After his sister is murdered, he fights to the brink of death, but is then granted restorative powers by an old crone. Cursed with immortality, Manji will fight evil to restore his soul. Rin comes to Manji to act as her bodyguard so she can pick off the swordsmen of the group responsible for killing her parents. Adapted from the popular Blade of the Immortal manga series, this film from prolific director Takashi Miike is full of his characteristic expertly choreographed sword fights, bloody dismemberments, madcap energy, and wit.
