Buskin’ Blues
Preceded by the short film Boardwalk Músico
Buskers, more commonly referred to as street performers, come from as far as Europe and Asia to play their instruments, learn from their peers, and receive the famous hospitality of the American South in Asheville, North Carolina. Staying true to that reputation, these exceptional talents give a rare glimpse into their unconventional lives. Artists—from a stride pianist to a didgeridoo player—passionately perform on the streets and share their personal journeys. Filled with hilarious stories and tender moments between total strangers, Derham’s debut feature-length documentary illuminates this dynamic artistic subculture.
