Dead Poets Society
Twenty-five years ago, Robin Williams surprised audiences with an unconventionally restrained and dramatic performance as Professor Keating in Dead Poets Society. The 2014 Virginia Film Festival celebrates the work of the beloved actor with a 25th anniversary screening of the critically acclaimed film that earned the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and a nod for Williams in the Best Actor category. Professor Keating, a new English teacher at a boarding school, encourages his students to go against the grain and seize the day, and each is changed for life. Much like his on-screen character, Williams will be remembered as an extraordinary inspiration to the many who were touched and inspired by his work.
