Generation A: Portraits of Autism in the Arts


Through eight compelling portraits, Generation A celebrates the talents of youths with autism, and provides them a platform on which to speak openly about their struggles. This documentary showcases the creative therapies and art programs that are available to stimulate the brain, encourage meaningful connections, and help young people on the autism spectrum reach their highest potential. The film features Dr. Temple Grandin and other experts in the field, alongside in-depth interviews with youths and their families as they explore music, dance, art, animation, and more. Introduction by Stephanie Hicks and discussion with Dr. Kristen Jamison, Dr. Laura Easter, Jaimee Traub (U.Va.), Peggy Halliday, and moderator Dr. Jane Hilton (U.Va.)
