Karate Tango
preceded by the short film In Confidence (10 min.)
A feature adaptation of Charlottesville native Peter Ryan’s off-Broadway play, Karate Tango chronicles the musical misadventures of a scrappy ensemble of amateur actors who try to pull together a play. As they dance, these actors also twirl through love, betrayal, and delicious helpings of cherry pie. Shot for the screen by the director of CLAW and Eat Me: A Zombie Musical, this indie love story, meta-musical creation promises to be an off-beat and mesmerizing spectacle. Discussion with director Brian Wimer and Peter Ryan.
