Krisha
Following a prolonged battle with addiction and self-destruction, Krisha returns for a holiday celebration with the family she abandoned. But what begins as a moving testament to the family’s capacity to forgive soon spirals into a deluge of emotional bloodletting as old wounds are torn open. Casting his own family members as actors, writer-director Trey Edward Shults re-creates painful incidents of his past, giving the film a uniquely authentic feel. Krisha is expanded from the award-winning short film of the same name, which was awarded Special Jury Recognition at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2014.
