Superbly shot and movingly acted, Lamb traces the disturbing yet intimate friendship between a middle-aged man and a young girl. David Lamb, following the disintegration of his marriage and the death of his father, seeks to regain some faith in his own goodness. He turns his attention to Tommie, an awkward and unpopular 11-year-old girl, and becomes convinced that he can help her avoid a destiny of apathy and emptiness. Together they embark on a road trip from Chicago to the Rockies, pursuing the beauty of the mountain wilderness—but the journey shakes them in ways neither expects.
