Former Navy corpsman Larry “Doc” Shepard reunites with old military friends, Marine Sal Nealson and Reverend Richard Mueller, thirty years after they served together in the Vietnam War. Coming together in response to a heartbreaking tragedy, the death of Doc’s son in the Iraq War, the ex-military buddies accompany Doc at the funeral in Arlington. After Doc realizes that he wants his son to be buried at home in New Hampshire, the three buddies reminisce about the impact of war on their lives as they take the casket on a journey up the East Coast.
