Fifteen-year-old Shay lives in the suburbs of London in the 1970s, where the punk music scene is burgeoning. After his mother abandons the family and an accident leaves his father near-comatose, Shay must do his best to pay the bills, make money driving his dad’s taxi, and track down his mother by disguising himself as a woman. Amidst the chaos of Shay’s everyday life, he meets Vivienne, who introduces him to the punk scene and The Clash, with which he quickly becomes enamored. Virginia native and VFF alumnus Derrick Borte (H8RZ) beautifully recreates footage of live music featuring Jonathan Rhys Meyers as The Clash’s frontman Joe Strummer.
