One Night in Miami

On one incredible night in 1964, four sports, music, and activism icons gathered to celebrate one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. Underdog Cassius Clay, soon to be known as Muhammad Ali, has just defeated heavy weigh champion Sonny Liston at the Miami Convention Hall. To memorialize the win, Clay rallies with three of his friends; Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown. Based on Kemp Powers’ play of the same name, this fictional account directed by actress Regina King looks at the struggles these men faced and the vital role they each played in the civil rights movement and cultural upheaval of the 1960s.
