Based on the true story of Old Bet, the first circus elephant in America, this film is narrated by her friend, an old farm dog, through an original song that draws on American folk, blues, and spiritual musical traditions. The story of their menagerie is portrayed in colorful, handcrafted animation, created frame by frame with clay-on-glass and oil pastel animation.
