Spent: Looking for Change
A film that follows the stories of everyday Americans who earn, save, and spend money, but don’t have access to the same financial tools most Americans take for granted. They rely on cash and checks and tend to turn to alternative financial services, like check cashers, pawn shops, money order services and payday lenders. The film illustrates the seriousness of this growing problem of the financially underserved, but also explores the many solutions emerging through technology, innovation and education. Discussion with R. Jerry Nemorin, Wesley Wright, Sohrab Kohli, and R. Edward Freeman (U.Va.)
