Stray Dog

Although he now lives a simple life owning an RV park in southern Missouri, Vietnam veteran Ron “Stray Dog” Hall, still wrestles with the invisible scars of war. As Ron adjusts to living with people other than his four small dogs, he learns the comforts of letting others in, especially his recently-arrived Mexican wife Alicia and her twin sons. On a cross-country trip with fellow veterans and bikers, Stray Dog reveals his compassionate side as he forges deep bonds with his companions through love, empathy, and humor. With an unobtrusive documentary style, director Debra Granik (Winter’s Bone) shows a slice of American life on the margins, deftly elucidating societal issues facing our country like PTSD, immigration, and poverty.
