The Electrical Life of Louis Wain

LW_D014_00116.DNG
Based on a true story, The Electrical Life of Louis Wain follows Louis Wain (Benedict Cumberbatch), an eccentric artist who struggles to find love while supporting his large family, until he meets Emily (Claire Foy), his sister’s governess. Over the course of their relationship, Louis begins to paint wild and beautiful portraits of cats, gaining recognition from late 1800s British society and popularizing the concept of the house cat. This unique film is an ode to the power of art and the often tormented creators of it.
