Patrick Douthit, better known as the artist 9th Wonder, is a Grammy Award winning producer, record executive, DJ, lecturer, and professor from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In his tenure at Harvard University, 9th Wonder teaches a course on ‘The Standards of Hip-Hop,’ conducting research for his thesis and exploring hip-hop’s history, culture, and role in academia. Centered on the emerging significance of incorporating hip-hop studies into academic curriculum, the film spotlights the scholars and musicians at the forefront of preserving the rich 40 years of hip-hop culture.
