The Measure of a Man
Vincent London, winner of the 2015 Cannes Best Actor Award, gives one of his finest performances as Thierry, an unemployed Everyman. When he loses his job of 25 years to cheaper labor, Thierry must submit to a series of quietly humiliating ordeals in his search for work, stripping him of identity and self-respect. Director Stéphanie Brizé observes Thierry from a distance, while exploring what it means to be unemployed in the realities of the new economic order.
