The Son
Hugh Jackman stars alongside Academy Award®-winners Laura Dern and Anthony Hopkins as a man whose life is upended when his ex-wife shows up with their troubled teenage son Nicholas. With a new wife and infant son and on the verge of a career breakthrough, Peter (Jackman) is thrown into a minefield of emotional distress with the boy’s arrival. The young man has been missing from school for months and is troubled, distant, and angry. Peter strives to take care of Nicholas as he would have liked his own father to have taken care of him, but in reaching for the past, he loses sight of how to hold onto the Nicholas in the present. Directed by Academy Award®-winner Florian Zeller, The Son is a devastating and sympathetic look at a broken family trying to heal.
