What We Do in the Shadows
Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords) and Taika Waititi, breathe new life, and laughs, into the mockumentary form and monster movie genres in this cleverly executed deconstruction of pop vampire mythos. Mundane quarrels evolve among a quartet of vampire flatmates in New Zealand – dandy Viago, brutal Vlad, bad-boy Deacon, and unsociable Petyr. Although all hail from different historical periods, none of them are suited for life in the 21st century, leading to hilarious encounters with potential victims, other creatures of the night, and modern technology. When Petyr converts mortal Nick, he draws unwanted attention to the house.
