CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – July 27, 2021– The Virginia Film Festival is partnering with Violet Crown Charlottesville to present a one-night only screening of The Sopranos Sessions: A Special Theatrical Triple Feature on Thursday, August 5.

The Sopranos Sessions, directed by Kristian Farga, offers fans a rare inside look at one of the most iconic and award-winning series in television history, featuring insights from critics, cast members, and creator David Chase. The show earned a remarkable 21 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes, and two Peabody Awards during its six-season run on HBO.

Tickets for the screening are $13.50 for adults, $12 for student/child/senior, and on sale now at Violet Crown Charlottesville. For more information on the event, visit virginiafilmfestival.org/year-round/sopranos-sessions.

In the first film of the tripleheader, My Dinner with Alan: A Sopranos Session, acclaimed TV critics Matt Zoller Seitz and Alan Sepinwall discuss the state of television, psychiatry, gangsterism, their 20-year friendship, and covering The Sopranos for The Newark Star Ledger, Tony Soprano’s hometown paper.

The second film, The Last Supper: A Sopranos Session, is an intimate dinner at Il Cortile with key cast members from the series, including Federico Castellucio, Arthur J. Nascarella, Vincent Pastore, and Vincent Curatola as they reminisce about the show in the very restaurant where cast traditionally dined after their characters were killed off.

The third and final film, David Chase: A Sopranos Session, treats fans to an exclusive and rare interview with the show’s creator. Chase discusses his childhood memories of Newark, his vision for the series, and experiencing the world of the Sopranos on the big screen in the upcoming prequel film The Many Saints of Newark, opening on October 1, 2021.
