Danny Wagner is an independent filmmaker based in Los Angeles. A Charlottesville native and an alum of the University of Virginia, his work is rooted in the environment of Central Virginia and the South. Raised by documentarians, filmmaking has been a constant in his life from a young age. While at UVA, he found an obsession in shooting on antique 16mm cameras, the iPhone 6 Plus, and basically nothing in between. His team’s student films received honorable mention in the Adrenaline Film Project in both 2016 and 2017, and one of his shorts was an official selection 2017 Virginia Film Festival and 2018 SmartPhilm Fest selection. After graduating, Danny moved to Los Angeles and began working as a production assistant for studios like Warner Media and Paramount Global. During the industry shutdown in 2020, he retreated to Charlottesville and started developing his first feature, For the Taking.
