David Koplan

Producer and Founder of Magnetic Fields Entertainment

With over 25 years of experience, David Koplan is an accomplished film producer and founder of Magnetic Fields Entertainment. Koplan most recently served as Producer on the musical comedy Spirited, starring Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds and Octavia Spencer, which is currently streaming on Apple TV+. Koplan previously served as an Executive Producer on Josh and Benny Safdies’ Uncut Gems for A24 starring Adam Sandler. He served as a Producer on the feature film Papillon, starring Charlie Hunnam and Rami Malek. He also served as an Executive Producer on the film Daddy’s Home, written and directed by Sean Anders and released by Paramount Pictures. Koplan also served as Executive Producer on Dumb and Dumber To, written and directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly and released by Universal Pictures.

Koplan has served as either Producer or Executive Producer on a wide range of award-winning independent films over the years, including: Stuart Blumberg’s Thanks for Sharing, starring Mark Ruffalo and Gwyneth Paltrow; Marc Lawrence’s The Rewrite, starring Hugh Grant and Marisa Tomei; Tim Blake Nelson’s Leaves of Grass, which starred Nelson, Edward Norton and, Keri Russell; Ray McKinnon’s Chrystal starring Billy Bob Thornton; and Adam Rapp’s Winter Passing, which starred Ed Harris, Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel.

Koplan is a graduate of the University of Virginia. He serves on the board of the Virginia Film Festival, the LA Advisory Committee for Americares and is a member of the PGA.
