Sneak Preview Screening of Raymond & Ray
The Virginia Film Festival will present a sneak preview screening of writer-director Rodrigo García’s latest drama Raymond & Ray. The film follows long-estranged half-brothers Raymond (Ewan McGregor) and Ray (Ethan Hawke) who reunite at the funeral of their father. Somehow, they still each have a sense of humor, and the funeral is a chance for them to reinvent themselves. There’s anger, there’s pain, there’s folly, there might be love, and there’s definitely gravedigging.
Produced by Bonnie Curis, Alfonso Cuarón, and UVA alum and VAFF advisory board member Julie Lynn, the film also stars Maribel Verdú, Tom Bower, Vondie Curtis Hall, and Sophie Okonedo. Raymond & Ray will see its official world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12 and will be released to stream on Apple TV+ on October 21.
The event will feature an in person discussion with writer-director Rodrigo García, a past VAFF guest, and, producer and VAFF Advisory Board Member Julie Lynn.
This screening is presented by UVA Arts: supported by the Office of the Provost and Vice Provost for the Arts.
