The Passengers

Two young men stand in a wooded area. One wears a black hoodie, the other a plaid shirt.

As Ethiopian Jews, Demoz and Gezi are members of a community of 9,000 individuals who speak Hebrew, keep kosher, and have Israeli relatives. Yet, Israel continuously denies their appeals for Aliyah— the birthright of Jews worldwide to immigrate to the Jewish homeland. Director Ryan S. Porush captures a complex story of the daring journey searching for their true home, one they have never even seen before. What unfolds is a story of two men caught between the worlds of the land of their birth and the land of their faith.
