Divia

Named after the Slavic goddess of nature, Divia brings to light the ways Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has impacted the forests and native species. Nature slowly rebuilds as the spring season invites new possibilities for healing; however, the scope of devastation is too grand for absolute recovery.

Largely composed of drone footage, this sound-driven documentary provides a distinct perspective and immersive experience into the impacts of war, conflict, and death on the Earth. Expert environmentalists, deminers, and animal rescuers confront the crushing reality of mankind’s permanent damage to the earth and reckon with the damage war has on an ecosystem.

Discussion with executive producer Daniel Frank and producers Polina Herman and Glib Lukianets.
