Jay Kelly

Academy Award-winning writer/director Noah Baumbach’s (Marriage Story) latest film is a story about a genuine movie star featuring a memorable meta turn by one of the most genuine movie stars of our era. George Clooney plays Jay Kelly, who along with his devoted manager Ron (Adam Sandler), embarks on a whirlwind and unexpected journey through Europe that has both men looking back at the choices they have made, the relationships with their closest family and friends, and the legacies they will leave behind.

The film’s stellar cast also features Laura Dern as Kelly’s at-wits-end publicist, and memorable turns from Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, and Baumbach’s wife and Barbie collaborator, the Academy Award-nominated Greta Gerwig. One of the hottest titles on this year’s festival circuit, Jay Kelly is a funny and fascinating look at celebrity and at the gap between who we are and who we want to be.

Followed by an in-depth conversation with Nicholas Britell, the film’s Academy Award and Grammy-nominated composer (Achievement in Film Composition Award).

The program, which will also feature Nicholas Britell playing piano, will be recorded for a special episode of the Awards Chatter Podcast with The Hollywood Reporter’s executive editor of awards coverage Scott Feinberg.
