NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE

The riotously hilarious web series from the minds of Matt Johnson (BlackBerry) and Jay McCarrol has been brought to the big screen in a mockumentary of epic proportions. As fictionalized caricatures of themselves, Matt and Jay are on a quixotic quest to finally land a show for their band, “Nirvanna the Band,” at Toronto’s illustrious bar, Rivoli, despite not having a single song to their name.
Desperate to land the gig, they hatch an elaborate publicity stunt – one that goes spectacularly awry and sends them back in time to 2008. Now stranded, they must find a way to get back to the future or risk being stuck forever.
Equal parts nostalgia trip and buddy comedy, Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie is a delightfully absurd and shamelessly uninhibited satire that delivers a time-bending misadventure proving some dreams are too ridiculous to ever die.
“A thrilling, roof-shaking blast.”
