The University of Virginia community, and the UVA football team suffered an unthinkable tragedy in 2022. Lavel Davis Jr., Devin Chandler, and D’Sean Perry were killed in the first and only mass murder in college athletics. The remainder of the season was canceled, and the program faced an uncertain future.

Three years later, the man responsible for those murders was sentenced, forcing mothers, survivors, and teammates to confront their grief once again. Amid that emotional weight, head coach Tony Elliott and a resilient veteran group carried UVA on one of college football’s most remarkable turnarounds.
