A visually innovative blend of documentary and music video, this emotionally triumphant work centers on B. Alexis, the first woman to release an album from prison. More than just a depiction of her life, the film channels the struggles and resilience of hundreds of thousands of trauma-impacted people, especially young Black women.

Brought to life by director, activist, and artist BL Shirelle (Assata Troi, Die Jim Crow EP), who co-founded FREER records, the first record label in the United States for prison-impacted musicians. Program presented in collaboration with The Inthrive Film Festival.
