Iconic songwriter and folk singer Woody Guthrie left an indelible mark on American music with anthems that made him the musical godfather of artists like Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan, and songs like “This Land is Your Land” that are at the heart of America’s musical legacy.

Director Steven Pressman (The Levys of Monticello) traces the fascinating and little-known thread between Guthrie and Jewish culture that grew out of his deep friendship and collaboration with his mother-in-law, the prominent Jewish poet Aliza Greenblatt. Greenblatt introduced the artist to a whole new world of cultural influences, helping him recognize the common ground between American and Jewish refugees and ultimately expand his unique power to bring people together through his songs.
