A Jewish-American filmmaker travels through Germany to confront generational trauma and the burden of Holocaust memory, only to be thrust into her own present-day crisis when she’s arrested and charged with antisemitism while documenting Palestinian artists’ protests.  

Through intertwined stories of Holocaust-survivor descendants, a Nazi-descendant historian, exiled Palestinian artists, and her father’s ALS, the film exposes how collective memory is shaped, weaponized, and often fails those who need it most. Together, these narratives challenge audiences to reconsider their own relationship to the past and how remembrance can be used to build a more honest present.
